On March 21, local time, explosions were reported in multiple cities in Iran, including Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, and Yazd. Tehran’s air defense systems continuously activated in an attempt to intercept intruding targets. On the same day, several mainstream Iranian media outlets reposted footage of Iranian missiles breaking through Israeli air defense systems and hitting the Israeli city of Dimona. Reports suggest this was a retaliatory action by Iran for the earlier attack on the Natanz nuclear facility. Besides the capital Tehran, the latest statistics from Iran’s Ministry of Health on the 21st show that since the outbreak of the conflict on February 28, military actions by the US and Israel have resulted in 20,984 injuries in Iran.
