On March 21, guided by the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, hosted by the Minhang District Federation of Trade Unions and the Minhang District Sports Bureau, co-organized by the Minhang District Table Tennis Association and Shanghai Qibao Middle School, and supported by China Merchants Bank Shanghai Minhang Technology Branch, the 2026 “Min Gong Cup” Fourth Minhang District Top 100 Enterprise Employee Ping Pong Tournament passionately began at Qibao Middle School. 47 teams from top enterprises and regional union units gathered, nearly 400 employees, to make friends through the game and compete with paddles, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Minhang workers in the new era through the national sport.

On the court, players swung their paddles like rainbows, with skills on display in pushes, blocks, and smashes. Arc shots and spin balls appeared frequently. Tactics such as serve and attack, inside-table lob, and others were performed in turn, each point earning cheers from the audience. Between the small tables, it was not only a contest of skills but also a test of willpower, demonstrating Minhang workers’ enterprising and courageous spirit.

A player from Bright Dairy & Food Co., Ltd., Gao Siyang, said that Bright Dairy’s team has participated in the “Min Gong Cup” four times, and he has been on the court three times himself. “The event feels more mature each year, with well-organized scale, arrangements, and support, providing a great platform for competition and performance. Over the years, the level of participating teams has generally improved, the matches are intense, and there is a lot of交流 and learning off the court. Everyone learns from each other and makes progress together.”

This year, the Minhang District Federation of Trade Unions focused on creating the “All Minhang Employees Exercise Together” brand, using sports to promote employees’ physical and mental health, and organizing diverse and rich sports events for workers across the district. Qin Ying, chairwoman of the trade union of Shanghai Shenkai Petrochemical Equipment Co., Ltd., is the team leader. She told reporters that the company has equipped employees with fitness stations and gyms. This is their first participation, both to respond to employees’ enthusiasm for sports and to experience the competition atmosphere. “We hope all employees pay attention to their health.
