Recently, Baogang Steel’s technical team carried out a specialized technical upgrade on the hydraulic accumulator of the No. 1 line cold bed at the rail beam factory. They successfully solved the long-standing issue of hydraulic pressure fluctuations in the system, eliminating the hidden quality risk of cold damage to heavy rails at the source. This ensures the efficient and stable operation of the heavy rail production line, promotes product quality improvement, and strengthens a solid and reliable technical guarantee.

The hydraulic system of the cold bed on the No. 1 line at the rail beam factory is a core process in heavy rail production. The original accumulator was insufficiently adaptable and could not match the on-site production conditions, causing significant pressure fluctuations in the hydraulic system during the operation of the step beam. This led to oscillations in the lifting and lowering of the movable beam, which easily caused cold damage to the heavy rails and other quality defects. This problem not only lowered the product qualification rate but also severely restricted production efficiency, becoming a bottleneck in the company’s path to quality and efficiency improvement.

Baogang Steel’s technical team directly addressed the pain points and technical bottlenecks on the production front. They took proactive responsibility and faced difficulties head-on, launching a dedicated technical breakthrough effort. The team members systematically checked the operation status of hydraulic pipelines, monitored system pressure parameters at each point, and precisely verified against outdated drawings and on-site equipment conditions. They ultimately identified two core issues: insufficient accumulator capacity and unreasonable placement. Based on the demanding conditions of heavy load, high frequency, and continuous operation in heavy rail rolling, and in the absence of mature similar upgrade experience, the team dedicated themselves to research. They conducted multiple rounds of fluid simulation calculations and system pressure matching tests, repeatedly verified optimization paths, and finally innovatively developed the optimal technical upgrade plan: adding an accumulator near the valve station on the unloading side. They meticulously adjusted the hydraulic pipeline layout, completed equipment installation, linkage debugging, and pressure calibration to high standards, and comprehensively upgraded the hydraulic system’s overall structure. This effectively enhanced the system’s energy storage and stable release capabilities, achieving precise, stable, and controllable hydraulic pressure operation.

After the project was put into use, continuous on-site monitoring and verification showed a significant improvement in hydraulic pressure stability. The oscillation phenomenon of the movable beam was completely eliminated, and the hidden quality risk of cold damage to heavy rails was fundamentally resolved. This upgrade simultaneously improved product quality and reduced equipment operation and maintenance costs, significantly decreasing downtime caused by equipment failures, lowering spare parts consumption, and reducing replacement costs, thus creating considerable economic benefits for the enterprise. Additionally, the targeted and highly practical upgrade plan provides valuable replicable, reference, and promotional experience for similar equipment upgrades in the domestic industry.

The successful implementation of this accumulator upgrade project exemplifies Baogang Steel’s technical team’s spirit of tackling difficulties, independent innovation, and pursuit of excellence. It also demonstrates the company’s effective use of technological innovation to break through production bottlenecks and empower high-quality development, injecting strong momentum into the continuous pursuit of premium heavy rail production and enhancing core competitiveness.
