Two and a half days—that’s how long it took for the “Little Sugar Cube” ring, a popular product from Pang Donglai, to sell out again after resuming sales. This hot-selling item was discontinued for three months and recently just went back on sale. On March 18, a reporter learned from Pang Donglai Life Plaza that all store inventories had been sold out.

The “Little Sugar Cube” ring is not a proprietary brand product of Pang Donglai but a joint venture item, sold only at the Jinsanjiao, Beihai, Yuzhou, and Life Plaza stores. There are two popular styles of the ring, both priced at 169 yuan. After resuming sales, each person is limited to purchasing five rings per style per day.

On the evening of March 17, a reporter found at Jinsanjiao store that these two styles of rings had sold out again.

“Stocks were available in the morning, but by the afternoon, they were gone,” a staff member at Jinsanjiao store explained. “This time, after two and a half days of sales, the manufacturer ran out of stock. We don’t know when it will be available again.”

On the morning of March 17, consumers purchased the “Little Sugar Cube” rings at Pang Donglai Jinsanjiao store.

March 17 was a Tuesday. Some Pang Donglai stores were closed for a break, but Jinsanjiao, Beihai, and Yuzhou stores were open as usual. The reporter learned that the “Little Sugar Cube” rings at these three stores had all been sold out. The Life Plaza store was closed on Tuesday, and many consumers had their last hope pinned here, hoping to buy the next day.

Early on March 18, consumers lined up waiting for the Pang Donglai Life Plaza store to open.

At 8:30 a.m. on March 18, an hour before the store opened, a reporter from Dahe Daily·Yu Video arrived at the entrance, where about 50 people were already in line, the queue winding around. The reporter joined the line, which soon grew by more than 10 people behind.

Five minutes later, a Pang Donglai staff member approached the line and announced loudly, “If you’re only here to buy the ‘Little Sugar Cube’ ring, you don’t need to queue—there’s no stock left.” Murmurs arose among the waiting crowd, and soon about one-third of the people left the line.
