China's first 550 MW F-class gas turbine unit is put into operation for power generation.

According to China Electric Power News, on March 21, Unit 1 of the Huadian Chongqing Tongnan Phase I 2×500 MW gas-fired power project successfully completed 168 hours of trial operation and officially entered commercial operation. The project is located in Tongnan District, Chongqing City, and includes two 550,120 kW gas-steam combined cycle peak-shaving generators, with a total installed capacity of 1,100,240 kW. The combined cycle efficiency reaches 61.66%, making it the largest and most efficient single-unit F-class heavy-duty gas turbine in China. Currently, the installation and commissioning of Unit 2 are progressing steadily.
