EU leaders fail to reach consensus on 20th round of sanctions against Russia

People’s Financial News, March 19 — On March 19, local time, the European Union announced a resolution from the leaders’ summit held that day regarding Ukraine. The resolution states that no consensus was reached among all parties on the 20th round of sanctions against Russia. Regarding financial aid to Ukraine, the resolution text states that after the EU decided in December 2025 to provide 90 billion euros in loan support to Ukraine between 2026 and 2027, the relevant legislative bodies have approved the loan arrangement. On the 19th, the EU Spring Summit was held in Brussels, Belgium, with Ukrainian President Zelensky participating via video link. (CCTV News)
