DoNews March 17th reported that, according to Houlang Video, recently a netizen posted a complaint about being refused when inquiring about a cashier position at the Anhui-based chain milk tea brand Kawangka on a job platform, citing being outside the age range of 18-26. This quickly sparked discussions among netizens.

Houlang Video contacted Kawangka’s official customer service regarding this matter. The response was that the age restriction of 18-26 is a long-standing company policy, mainly due to the physical demands of store work. The customer service also mentioned that they have received similar feedback before, but since management practices vary across companies, the policy has not been adjusted for now.

Kawangka is a local Anhui new tea beverage brand, known for the “Guan De Three-piece Set.” The brand has gained popularity for its high-quality tea drinks and attentive store service, and netizens jokingly refer to it as the “milk tea world’s .”
