NetEase's "Reverse Cold Water" mobile game unveils new sect "Wufeng Sect," will launch new single-player combat mode

NetEase “Reverse Water Cold” Mobile Game Announced on February 26

On March 6, the new version will officially launch, introducing the new Jianghu faction “Wufeng Gate.”

According to the announcement, “Wufeng Gate” will feature brand-new dual sword combat skills, a new solo challenge mechanism, enhanced action impact effects, exclusive faction gameplay, and a more realistic martial arts experience.

Note from IT Home: The new solo combat mode appears only in the “Wenfeng Challenge” within version 3.3.1. Other existing combat modes remain unchanged.

New Dual Sword Combat Skill: “Frost Flame Slash”

A blade like flowing frost and snow, the other like raging fire. Swinging dual swords to perform multiple slashes, dealing damage to targets while allowing movement and casting. Damage to monsters is increased, making it suitable for dungeon PvE gameplay.

Acquisition Method: Faction upgrade — “First Entry into Wufeng” realm reward

The new UI mode is for demonstration only and is expected to be available during the 4.1.1 anniversary celebration. The new Hundred Schools skill “Return Cloud Break Feng” will be added.

After a brief charge and displacement towards the remote pole, quickly thrust behind the target, dealing damage to enemies along the way, with additional damage, shield-breaking effects, and a flaw mark on the target. During skill release, the user gains a block state.

Targets with flaw marks will explode the mark when taking damage from heroes or ultimate skills, causing additional area damage.

This skill is mainly designed for PvP, offering good burst capability and shield-breaking power. It can be further enhanced with the Wufeng Gate’s enhanced normal attack — “Wenfeng Slash.”

New Trait: “Forging the Blade, Breaking the Edge”

Joining Wufeng Gate allows players to comprehend a new trait: after releasing heroes or ultimate skills, they gain temporary damage reduction and damage immunity.

After releasing Wufeng Gate skills, normal attacks will temporarily switch to “Wenfeng Slash,” with damage reduction effects during the cast.

Targets with flaw marks will be shattered when hit by Wenfeng Slash or any hero/ultimate skills.

This trait mainly targets PvP gameplay, effectively countering high-damage reduction or high-shield targets.

New Ultimate Skill: “Ten Thousand Blades Return to the Feng”

Jumping into the air, unleashing multiple ice-fire sword energies towards the ground, then executing a final strike from above at the target location to deal damage. Players can also choose to land early; shortly after landing, a final strike will be executed at the target location.

This ultimate skill is mainly for PvE dungeons and PvP, providing high-altitude damage avoidance and substantial damage output.

Wufeng Gate “Wenfeng Challenge”

In the main storyline “Northern Border of the Warhorse Pass,” former Wufeng Gate leader Ruan Guizhen appears. He is Ruan Ruan’s most cherished master and Wufeng’s best protector.

In the faction trial “Wenfeng Challenge,” players will meet Ruan Guizhen again, learning the Wufeng way through sparring and even facing the young Ruan Guizhen.

Beyond extending the storyline, players will experience the evolution of Reverse Water Cold’s combat system through this trial.

Players will engage in a one-on-one duel with Ruan Guizhen, breaking away from the traditional MMO “stand-and-output” style, focusing instead on precise blocking, disrupting enemy attacks, and exploiting openings for deadly counterattacks, incorporating a strategic boss fight.

“Wenfeng Challenge” Mechanics Overview

• Dodge: Use “Yan Hui Feng” to evade enemy attacks before they land.

• Precise Dodge: Timing a dodge correctly triggers a precise dodge, avoiding damage and restoring some agility points. The next normal attack will be replaced with a pursuit attack, allowing quick approach.

• Block: When enemies release yellow circle skills, players can use Wufeng Gate skills to block, interrupting enemy attacks.

The special dual sword block skill can handle yellow circle skills and most enemy attacks; well-timed precise blocks can reset cooldowns.

“Wenfeng Challenge” offers three difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, and Peak, balanced for fairness, unaffected by character progression.

Completing the normal difficulty grants most rewards. Hard and Peak difficulties are designed for challenge-seeking players and do not include power-up rewards.

In the “Wenfeng Invitation” side quest, players can test their skills in the “Wenfeng Challenge.” A leaderboard will be available for Peak difficulty.

Players can also use existing skill sets, including faction skills (which support one-key combos), to complete “Wenfeng Challenge — Stones from Other Mountains” and earn the same rewards.

In the martial world, Wufeng Gate is renowned for its extreme self-cultivation. The gate rule “Hold no blade, sweep the unbalanced, avoid harboring a blade and advancing, never lose the heart of sharpening” encourages members to improve their rank and strengthen their gear continuously, both in and out of battle.

To motivate progress, Wufeng Gate pioneered a faction realm system with five levels: First Entry into Wufeng, Mingfeng Inquiry, Fengyi Gradually Fills, Yufeng Enlightened, and Wufeng Without Self.

Players can naturally level up by completing “Wenfeng Challenge” and “Sharpen the Blade, Question the Name.” Each level grants unique rewards such as faction skills, ultimate techniques, and faction costumes.

Players can converse with Chixiao to check their rankings across various tracks.

After the dialogue, players receive a specially crafted one-day title and accessory “Linen Pursuit Ink” blind box from Chixiao. Different tracks and experiences yield unique titles.

Joining Wufeng Gate grants the chance to obtain the series back accessory “Linen Pursuit Ink,” available in seven different colors via blind boxes.
