International Paper announced plans to build a new $225 million sustainable packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi. The 468,000-square-foot plant, located on an 80-acre site in Brandon, will replace the existing Richland box plant, with construction beginning in June 2026 and operations anticipated in late 2027. This investment aims to modernize the company’s manufacturing footprint, strengthen its cost position, and enhance service capabilities across the Mid-South region.
