Federal Reserve Vice Chair and banking regulator Michelle Bowman still supports the Federal Reserve’s plan to cut interest rates three times by the end of this year, and expects the U.S. economy to remain strong this year, but also关注s the impact of the Iran war.

Bowman told Fox Business, “Of course, I expect three rate cuts by the end of 2026 to support the labor market. It’s still too early to tell what impact Iran and this conflict will have, but I do anticipate that we will start to see some supply-side policies gradually take effect in the economy.”

Bowman also promoted the plan announced this week, which will relax capital requirements for large Wall Street banks. This move could release billions of dollars for lending, stock buybacks, and dividends.
