Weirliang Liquor Residue Black Soldier Fly Conversion Pilot Project Launches Trial Operation

People’s Financial News, March 16 — Recently, Changzhou Weili Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Changzhou Weili Agricultural”) a subsidiary of Weili Group, as the core supplier and implementer of technology and facilities, jointly launched a pilot project for converting high-quality soy sauce lees into black soldier fly insects. This project is in collaboration with Moutai Circular Industry Investment Company. Xie Jun, Party Secretary and Chairman of Moutai Circular Industry Investment, stated that the project is an important practice in response to the “dual carbon” strategy and in promoting the upgrade of the circular economy in the liquor industry. The project requires both parties to leverage Weili’s technological advantages to solve problems, advance industrialization simultaneously, and strive to bring insect protein pet food to market within the year.
