Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stated in an interview on March 16 local time that a ceasefire is only reasonable if it is based on the premise of no longer fighting. Larijani said, “A ceasefire cannot just be an opportunity for the enemy to resolve their own issues, such as fixing damaged radars or shortages of interceptors, and then launch attacks against us again.” He added, “We will continue to fight—until the enemy truly regrets their actions and the global and regional political and security conditions are favorable.” Larijani also said that Iran is prepared for a long-term war.
