According to the National Immigration Administration, during this year’s Spring Festival holiday, border inspection agencies across the country processed a total of 17.796 million entries and exits of both Chinese and foreign personnel, with an average of 1.977 million per day, a 10.1% increase compared to last year’s holiday. The highest daily crossing volume occurred on February 21, reaching 2.259 million. Among these, mainland residents accounted for 9.514 million entries and exits, a 10.2% increase from last year’s daily average; Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents totaled 6.969 million, an 8% increase; and foreigners numbered 1.313 million, a 21.8% increase. Of the inbound foreigners, 460,000 entered under visa exemption policies, a 28.5% increase from last year’s daily average. Additionally, a total of 705,000 transportation vehicles (ships, trains, vehicles) were inspected, a 19.4% increase from last year’s daily average.
Following the unified deployment of the National Immigration Administration, border inspection agencies nationwide ensured smooth port clearance during the Spring Festival holiday by forecasting and announcing peak periods of passenger flow at major ports in advance; organizing duty schedules scientifically, opening sufficient inspection channels, and strengthening guidance; closely collaborating with port joint inspection units and local authorities to carefully plan passenger flow management and transportation support during peak times, ensuring safe, efficient, and orderly border crossings nationwide.
