Xinhua News Agency, New York, February 25 — The three major U.S. stock indexes rose on the 25th.
By the close of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 307.65 points to 49,482.15, a gain of 0.63%; the S&P 500 index rose by 56.06 points to 6,946.13, a gain of 0.81%; and the Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 288.40 points to 23,152.08, a gain of 1.26%.
In terms of sectors, six out of eleven sectors in the S&P 500 declined, while five rose. The industrial and real estate sectors led the declines with decreases of 0.79% and 0.69%, respectively. The technology and financial sectors led the gains with increases of 1.79% and 1.68%, respectively.
