CME Group plans to launch the world's first combined Neodymium-Praseodymium rare earth futures contract

CME Group is actively advancing a plan to launch the world’s first rare earth futures contract. The contract will combine trading of two of the most critical rare earth elements—neodymium and praseodymium. However, no final decision has been made regarding the launch of the contract, with one challenge being that rare earth trading is not active, and its market size is very small compared to most other metal futures markets.
