Vietnam island carrier bets on 40 Boeing 787s to draw global tourists

Boeing and new Vietnamese carrier Sun PhuQuoc Airways announced an order for up to 40 787-9 Dreamliner jets to support the airline’s long-haul strategy and connect Phu Quoc island with major cities globally. This is the largest Boeing widebody order in Vietnamese history, aiming to significantly boost tourism to the island. The 787-9’s long range and passenger comfort features are central to Sun PhuQuoc’s plan to make Phu Quoc a global tourist destination.
