The Danish military transferred an American submarine crew member to Greenland for medical treatment

On the 21st, the Danish military announced on social media that a crew member aboard a U.S. submarine in Greenland waters urgently needed medical treatment. The Danish forces transported the crew member to a hospital in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, on the same day. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark with a high degree of self-governance; defense and foreign affairs are managed by the Danish government. The Danish Northern Command posted on Facebook on the 21st that after a medical emergency occurred on a U.S. submarine, a crew member was airlifted to a hospital in Nuuk. The post did not disclose the nature of the medical issue or details about the submarine’s mission. (CCTV News)
