Abstract generation in progress

The Texas Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against Dow over alleged “habitual” environmental and pollution violations at its Seadrift chemical plant, operated by Union Carbide Corporation. Local activist Diane Wilson of San Antonio Bay Waterkeeper, who was preparing her own lawsuit, criticizes the state’s action as a “sweetheart deal” that could lead to reduced penalties for Dow. Wilson continues to advocate for a zero-waste policy and believes Dow is seeking to increase discharge into nearby waters.
