Tomorrow (February 22), a dust storm will affect the Yangtze River Delta region. According to the latest air quality forecast, Shanghai will experience short-term moderate or worse pollution around midday tomorrow, with PM10 as the primary pollutant. The Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center forecaster stated that today (February 21), a widespread dust storm occurred in northwest China, causing air pollution levels from moderate to severe in many areas. Starting early morning on February 22, the dust storm will begin to impact the Yangtze River Delta region. During the dust pollution period, citizens are advised to reduce outdoor activities and avoid exposure. If going outside is necessary, please take personal protective measures; special groups such as children, the elderly, pregnant women, and chronic disease patients should avoid outdoor activities, and vulnerable populations should pay particular attention to protection. According to the air quality forecast, early morning on February 23, the prevailing wind in Shanghai will shift to northeast, and the dust storm will gradually pass. By around midday, the dust impact will largely end, and air quality will improve to good. (Cailian Press)
