Putin: Russia is ready to cooperate with Ukraine on the memorandum for peace talks.
On May 20, Jin Shi Data reported that, according to Russian state media, President Putin stated that he had a productive phone conversation with U.S. President Trump on Monday. Trump expressed his stance on a ceasefire during the conversation. Putin thanked the U.S. for its involvement in restoring direct dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, and stated that Moscow is ready to cooperate with Ukraine on relevant memoranda for future peace negotiations. A ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine is possible once relevant agreements are reached. Russia supports stopping the fighting, but the most effective path to peace must be found. The memorandum between Russia and Ukraine may include issues such as ceasefire and principles for resolution. Overall, we are on the right track. Russia and Ukraine must find a compromise solution that is suitable for both sides. We should eliminate the root causes of the crisis.
