NIO Firefly, the Firefly, officially launches in Thailand, lighting up the world’s second right-hand-drive market
On March 5, NIO’s (NIO.US) high-end smart electric car brand Firefly announced its official launch in the Thailand market. Currently, the brand has entered 10 countries worldwide and plans to gradually expand to nearly 40 markets in Europe, the U.S., and Southeast Asia.
Previously, its right-hand-drive models were unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2025, and it completed the first deliveries in Singapore first. This move into Thailand marks its second right-hand-drive market in Southeast Asia, highlighting the acceleration of the brand’s global expansion. As an important right-hand-drive auto market in Southeast Asia, Thailand’s demand for electric vehicles continues to rise, consumer potential keeps being unlocked, and this provides broad space for high-end smart electric vehicles.
To strengthen localized operations, Firefly has selected Thonburi BlueSky Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Thonburi Group, a leading enterprise in Thailand’s automotive industry, as its general distributor. Leveraging its local insights, full industrial-chain capabilities, luxury vehicle manufacturing, high-end battery pack assembly, and a widely established after-sales network, it will drive Firefly’s smart high-end electric car to serve users in Thailand more deeply.
