Former OpenAI employee establishes a $100 million AI investment fund called Zero Shot; the first round raised $20 million

Gate News, on April 7, multiple former OpenAI employees jointly founded a venture capital fund called Zero Shot, with a target size of $100 million. The first round has already raised about $20 million and completed several investments. The fund was launched by Evan Morikawa, Andrew Mayne, Shawn Jain, and others, with Kelly Kovacs and Brett Rounsaville also participating. Invested projects include enterprise automation platform Worktrace AI and robotics company Foundry Robotics, among others. The team said it will focus on deploying AI directions with long-term potential, while taking a cautious stance toward certain segments, including “vibe coding” platforms and robot video data training, among other areas.
