Gate News update: On April 2, U.S. President Trump announced that the United States will no longer import any oil that transits through the Strait of Hormuz in the future. The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman; about one-third of the world’s seaborne oil needs to be transported through this route and is regarded as one of the most important energy transportation chokepoints in the world.
