Log in and go to the trading page: Open your browser, visit the Gate official website and log in. In the navigation menu, select [Futures], then choose the contract you want to trade to enter the futures trading page.

Switch position mode: Go to the futures trading zone, and click [Settings] in the top navigation.

In [Trading], click [Position Mode].

Select and switch to the desired mode. Please note: before switching the position mode, check your current positions and open orders to ensure there are no open positions or pending orders.

FAQ
Q: Why do I only see one position under a specific contract even though hedge mode is enabled?
This may be caused by the following reasons:
- Position liquidation: If any of your long or short positions triggers liquidation, that position will be automatically closed. Therefore, even with the hedge mode enabled, you may only see the remaining position. Check your trading history and account balance to confirm if liquidation has occurred.
- If the position mode was not switched successfully, please return to the position mode settings page and check whether hedge mode or Hedge Split mode has been enabled.
