Wu Shuo learned that Tether announced the launch of a new accounting unit for tokenized gold, Tether Gold (XAU₮), called Scudo. According to the introduction, the launch of Scudo aims to simplify gold pricing and avoid the use of complex decimal values, defining 1 Scudo as 1/1000 ounce of gold, making it more intuitive and user-friendly for daily transactions. Tether stated that Scudo will not alter the structure or backing of XAUT, its tokenized gold. XAUT remains fully backed by physical gold stored in secure vaults, and ownership can be verified on-chain through Tether's asset tracking tools.
