在人工智能应用层面，Buterin 也给出了清晰判断。他指出，高速运行的 AI 系统需要城市级甚至建筑级的本地基础设施，无法依赖全球同步的主链完成即时交互。这正是 Layer 2 网络存在的意义：以太坊主网负责全球可信结算，而 Rollup 生态负责承载高速、本地化、应用密集型场景。
