Trump Decides to Extend Ceasefire with Iran Indefinitely
Donald Trump officially extends the ceasefire with Iran without a set deadline on Tuesday (21/4). Through his official statement, Trump revealed that this decision was made at the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This step aims to give Iran's leaders time to propose a comprehensive diplomatic proposal to the United States.
Although the ceasefire has been extended, Trump emphasized that he has instructed the U.S. military to continue the blockade against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces remain on combat alert and ready to act until diplomatic discussions yield a final result. Trump stated that this decision was made considering the internal conditions of the Iranian government, which is currently believed to be experiencing serious fractures.
In response, Iran Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf's advisor stated that Trump's decision is unreasonable and is just one of the strategies to delay time for a surprise attack. This announcement immediately impacted the global oil market, which corrected back below the level $90 per barrel. Meanwhile, BTC remains stable around $75,000.
