Flash News | Multiple Countries Do Not Immediately Respond to Trump's "Strait of Hormuz Escort" Call

On March 15, according to media reports, in response to Donald Trump's call for multiple countries to dispatch warships to the Strait of Hormuz to perform escort missions, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom responded successively, but none clearly stated they would immediately dispatch ships to participate.

Current positions of each country are as follows:

• France: Explicitly stated it will not dispatch vessels, saying that the French aircraft carrier and its task force will continue to be deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

• Japan: Stated it will not dispatch ships solely because of Trump's call, and Japan will independently decide whether to take action based on its own judgment.

• South Korea: The presidential office stated it will "carefully consider," and maintain close communication with the United States.

• United Kingdom: The Ministry of Defense stated it is discussing a range of options with allies and partners to ensure maritime safety in the region.

Media points out that based on current public statements, no country has clearly announced it will respond to the U.S. call to dispatch ships for escort missions.
