🇯🇵 Japan’s Inflation Just Hit a 46-Month Low

The latest Japan National CPI (YoY) data is out, and it’s a shocker: inflation plummeted to 1.5% for January 2022, the lowest level we’ve seen since May 2022.
The Drop: Actual 1.5% vs. Forecast 2.1%.
The Trend: This is a massive slide from the 2.1% seen just last month and well below the BoJ's 2.0% target.
The Impact: After years of fighting for inflation, Japan is suddenly cooling off faster than anyone expected.
