A single letter typo leads to a market cap of tens of millions in 3 hours? DOYR's move is absolutely insane.

Abstract generation in progress

[BlockBeats] On the evening of December 7, a meme coin called DOYR suddenly went viral on BNB Chain. Within just three hours of its launch, its market cap soared to a peak of $9.7 million. Although it has now dropped back to $8.5 million, the three-hour trading volume has already reached $13.1 million.

The story behind it is quite interesting—a co-CEO of a leading exchange reminded everyone on Twitter to DYOR (Do Your Own Research) when investing, but accidentally typed DYOR as DOYR. The community immediately seized on this “Easter egg” and started issuing and speculating on the coin. The executive later clarified in a post that launching tokens “based on angles from tweets” is a spontaneous community activity and has nothing to do with the platform, reminding everyone to be mindful of risks.

As usual, a disclaimer upfront: Meme coins basically have little real utility, and their prices are more volatile than a roller coaster. If you want to get in, weigh your options carefully—don’t act on impulse.

Haha, this CEO is unbelievable—a single typo can cause tens of millions in market cap to be traded, and he still comes out to shift the blame.

Haha, alright, just typing a letter can fleece retail investors, this move is really something else. This is exactly the kind of thing we see on-chain every day, hilarious. The CEO's move is unbeatable, unintentionally helped promote the community. Those who bought the dip are all thinking about how to avoid the next trap, haha. The distance of just one letter, from DYOR to a market cap of tens of millions, it's surreal. Don't ask me if I bought in, I'm just here for the spectacle. This is the fate of meme coins—dramatic ups and downs, then gone in a puff of smoke.

A typical case of incentive distortion. The fact that a CEO's typo can trigger tens of millions in liquidity shows what? The market doesn't care about fundamentals at all; it's just waiting to find any excuse from the slightest clue to spin a story. This is the result when the game-theoretic equilibrium is broken—the risk identification mechanism completely fails.

Ha, a single typo can be used to fleece retail investors? My contrarian indicator should be flashing red again.
