Google's making moves in the chip game, throwing down the gauntlet against Nvidia. But here's the thing—competition doesn't automatically equal disruption.
Sure, Google's got resources and ambition. They're building custom silicon, trying to carve out their slice of the AI hardware pie. Sounds threatening on paper, right?
But Nvidia's not sitting on yesterday's glory. Their ecosystem runs deep—CUDA software, developer loyalty, enterprise partnerships that took years to build. You don't just replicate that overnight with shiny new chips.
The real story? This competition might actually validate Nvidia's market rather than destroy it. When tech giants scramble to compete in your space, it proves the space matters. And Nvidia's still got the head start, the installed base, and the software moat that keeps customers locked in.
Don't mistake fresh competition for imminent collapse. Nvidia's throne isn't wobbling just yet.

Nvidia's moat is truly incredible; the CUDA ecosystem isn't something you can just build overnight... Even if Google pours in money, it will still take time.

ngl reminds me of UST in May... everyone thought the competitor would collapse but the moat held. nvidia's CUDA lock-in isn't breaking anytime soon, statistically speaking the risk-reward still favors incumbents here

ngl, Nvidia's moat is indeed deep. Just the CUDA ecosystem alone isn't something you can just switch out easily.

ngl Nvidia's moat is indeed solid; no matter how much money Google throws at it, it'll still take them a few years to catch up.

NVDA's moat is indeed deep; the CUDA ecosystem can't be burned down in just a day or two. No matter how lavish Google is, it still has to take its time.
