Ukraine has just taken a giant step. The Parliament approved in the first reading a law that legalizes virtual assets, and this is no small matter: we are talking about turning anything into a token.
What does this mean in practice?
Imagine that you want to sell your apartment. Under this law, you could:
Tokenize your property
Sell the token in a mobile app
The buyer of the token legally becomes the owner ( with the backing of the state registry )
Everything ready in a matter of minutes
It's not just housing. The law also opens the door to tokenize:
Supermarket bonus points
Video game items (swords, armors, etc.)
Bank deposits and securities
Practically any asset you can think of
The numbers:
Ukraine is already moving between 150-200 million dollars daily in virtual assets, with a capitalization exceeding 2 billion. All of this… in the shadows. So far.
The investment factor:
International lawyers are already sniffing out the opportunity. Binance and other major platforms have indicated their intention to enter the Ukrainian market once the law is definitively approved in the upcoming readings.
How control works:
The Digital Ministry will register all service providers
Virtual assets will NOT compete with the official currency (hryvnia)
If you want to pay with a token, the bank automatically converts it.
This could be the most permissive regulation we have seen so far in Eastern Europe. While other countries debate, Ukraine is building.
