Golden Finance reports that SlowMist has issued a security alert, indicating that the XMR network is suspected of suffering from a 51% Computing Power attack. According to a post on X and the blockchain reorganization chart it provided, XMR has recently experienced a chain reorganization of 6 Blocks deep conducted by an unknown Mining Pool. Currently, no mining pool has more than 50% of the computing power on miningpoolstats, so this could be a covert malicious computing power attack or an accidental mining competition. The SlowMist security team recommends: when using XMR for transactions, try to wait for more block confirmations to reduce risk.
